Daf Nimkovsky Black and White Photography

Nurturing a romantic approach to the self, nostalgia threads softly tailored silhouettes with a subtle sensuality. Clothes are carefully considered—an anatomy of the soul expressed through cloth—with distinctions to accentuate the wearer.

A considerate collection of pieces that make up an individual’s wardrobe.

Inspired by days-gone-by, when dressmakers and tailors were tasked with the design of wardrobe additions, Daf Nimkovsky is our version for today’s world. An ode to the craft that is passed through the lifelines we find when looking introspectively at our hands and in particular, the groves and omen they carry and will pass on.

Seasons do not exist other than the physical ones outside.

An interplay of the art form and the practical functionality of clothing, building a bridge between pieces that are neither historic nor current. An amalgamation of precise techniques combined
with a further developed experimental way of working creates an interplay between masculine and feminine cues on the body.

Emphasis is placed on silhouettes and fabric selection.

The clothes are meticulously designed to be worn day in day out and in due course passed down. Made in Aotearoa.
